Quiet Hours
Quiet hours let you block all calls during set times -- perfect for bedtime, school hours, or homework time. When a quiet hours rule is active, both incoming and outgoing calls are blocked, so you can be confident your child's phone stays silent when it should.
Setting up a quiet hours rule
- Go to Cups and select your child's cup.
- Tap Quiet Hours.
- Tap Add Rule.
- Enter a description for the rule (e.g. "School nights" or "Bedtime").
- Set the start time and end time for the block.
- Select the days of the week the rule should apply (e.g. Monday through Friday for school nights).
- Save the rule.
That's it! The rule will automatically block calls during the times you've set on the days you've chosen.
Managing your rules
- You can create multiple rules to cover different parts of your child's week.
- Each rule can be enabled or disabled independently, so you can turn a rule off temporarily without deleting it.
- To edit or delete a rule, go to Cups > select cup > Quiet Hours and tap on the rule you want to change.
Example setups
Here are some common quiet hours configurations to get you started:
| Rule name | Start time | End time | Days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bedtime | 8:30 PM | 7:00 AM | Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri |
| Weekend bedtime | 9:00 PM | 8:00 AM | Sat, Sun |
| School hours | 8:45 AM | 3:00 PM | Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri |
You might use all three of these together to make sure calls are blocked overnight and during the school day, with slightly later bedtimes on the weekend.
Good to know
- When quiet hours are active, both incoming and outgoing calls are blocked. Your child won't be able to make calls, and callers will not get through.
- Rules apply based on the start and end times you set. If the start time is later than the end time (e.g. 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM), the rule spans overnight.
