Calling & Emergency Settings
Each cup has two important toggles that control whether your child can make and receive calls. You can use these to manage calling access and ensure your child can always reach emergency services when needed.
How to access these settings
- Go to Cups and select the cup you want to manage.
- The calling and emergency call toggles are in the cup's main settings area.
Calling toggle
The calling toggle is the master switch for all calling on a cup.
- When enabled: Your child can make and receive calls as normal.
- When disabled: Your child cannot make or receive any calls (with one exception — see emergency calls below).
This is useful for grounding, focus time during homework or school, or temporarily deactivating a cup without removing it entirely.
Emergency calls toggle
The emergency calls toggle controls whether your child can dial 111 (NZ emergency services). It is enabled by default for safety.
- When enabled: Your child can always call 111, even if the main calling toggle is turned off.
- When disabled: Your child will not be able to dial 111.
We recommend keeping emergency calls enabled at all times, but you have the option to disable it if you prefer.
Good to know
- Changes to both toggles take effect immediately.
- Even with calling turned off, your child can still reach emergency services as long as the emergency calls toggle is on.
