Setting Up Your Account

Getting started with Papercup is quick. Here's how to create your account and set things up for your child.

Creating your account

  1. Go to portal.papercup.kids and click Sign Up
  2. Enter your email address, password, and your name
  3. Check your email for a verification link and click it to confirm your account

When you sign up, a family is automatically created for you and you become the family admin.

Your first steps

Once your account is confirmed, here's what to do next:

1. Create a cup

A cup is a profile for your child's phone. Go to Cups > Create Cup and give it a name (like your child's name or a nickname).

2. Claim your device

If you have a Papercup phone, you need to link it to your account. Scan the QR code on the device, or enter its MAC address manually to connect it to your cup.

3. Add contacts

Go to your cup's Contacts page and add the phone numbers your child is allowed to call. Only approved contacts will be able to reach your child.

4. Set up speed dials

Assign your child's most important contacts to digit keys 1-9 for easy dialing. Your child can press and hold a number to call that contact right away.

5. Get a phone number

Upgrade to a paid plan to get your child their own phone number so people can call them.
